ATLANTA BASED MAKEUP ARTIST
Welcome!
I’m Dariana Vertus, the Lead Pro Makeup Artist and Beauty Architect behind, Artistry Defined. Aesthetically, my work focuses on building a skin-like finish, while emphasizing the best features of each client. Honestly, I was not one of the little girls who played in their mother's makeup since childhood.

My passion for makeup started in 2008, while attending college. I studied writing and public relations, while I refined my artistry, before accepting clients. It was imperative to me that I understand the fundamental concepts behind color theory, properly preparing various skin types, and accurately matching every complexion, to earn the title, makeup artist.

In 2012, after graduating, I relocated to Southwest Florida, beginning my career in retail with Sephora, while also teaching. Sephora equipped me with sales & customer service experience, and also instilled in me the importance of product knowledge. I think it’s necessary to understand the chemical properties of products and how they interact with other products, to get the best finish. While there, my freelance career also flourished, building a consistent bridal clientele.
THE Artist,
BEHIND THE BRUSHES
In 2014, after a demanding bridal season, I established Artistry Defined, as a luxury makeup experience, specializing in timeless looks. From red carpet glam, bridal, commercial, to editorial, and now, television and film; every look is carefully crafted, with great attention to skin & complexion. My approach to beauty focuses on 5 major key elements; skin type, proper skin care and preparation, overall complexion consistency in color matching, symmetry, and the wearability of every application, creating, "TIMELESS LOOKS, FOR THE PRESENT BEAUTY!"

I’ve had the opportunity to learn from respected industry professionals such as Mali Thomas, Danessa Myricks, Sam Fine, AJ Crimson, Tiyanna Robinson, James Vincent, and more.
In 2019, I relocated to Atlanta. Since relocating, I've had the pleasure of partnering with reputable brands such as NARS, Good Molecules, and Cover FX.
Because of my skillset, NARS afforded me the opportunity to host a Master Class, to teach fellow artists my application technique.

Currently, I am focused on bridal. I’m also focused on building education opportunities to aid fellow artists in advancing their skills. I believe that acquiring a diverse arsenal of techniques will allow an artist to not only understand beauty, through a critical lens, but also appreciate the science behind the theory of makeup for ALL complexions.
